According to the police, the tragedy occurred around 4 am. Prabha Kumari, an employee of Forest Department, is living in the rented house with her husband. Her husband Ravindra, who works with a private firm, was away when the mishap occurred.
The intensity of the explosion was such that the roof of the bathroom broke into small pieces and the window panes of the neighbouring houses were also damaged.
House burgled
Thieves barged into the residence of a private firm manager and decamped with valuables worth Rs 1.2 lakh on Friday.
According to the police, the incident occurred at 3.30 pm when Rekhawathi was away. The thieves entered her house on 8th Main in Ulsoor using duplicate keys and made away with valuables and cash. Rekhawathi returned home only to find her house burgled.
