3 held for flesh trade

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths arrested three persons on charges of indulging in flesh trade and seized a laptop, eight cellphones, a car and Rs 2,000 in cash. 

Zareen Syed, 24, a resident of Meera Road, Thane, Mumbai, Sophia, 26, of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh and K Siddharth, 25, of Ameerpet in Hyderabad were arrested by the police from a room in a well-known hotel in the City. 

Police said the arrested  placed advertisements online in the name of ‘Bangalore Escorts,’ ‘Model Girls in Bangalore,’ and ‘Ruchi Jain’. They would offer callers good looking young girls and charge Rs 25,000 for short time. They would direct them to book a room in the hotel where they would send the girls. During interrogation, Zareen is reported to have told the police that she lived in a flat on MS Ramaiah Road in Mathikere. She would contact customers through the Internet, police said. Based on information provided by her, police arrested the other suspects.

Fake jeans recovered

The CCB sleuths arrested Chandru, 40, of Narayan Reddy building, Kalasrinagar, T Dasarahalli and recovered 1,000 fake jeans of popular brands. The suspects attached tags of reputed firms to locally stitched pants and sold them claiming them to be genuine, added police.

Hotel employee robbed

Two men robbed a hotel employee of his valuables Tuesday morning at KR Circle.  Ravi Naik of Ulsoor was waiting for a bus to return home when the two men threatened him at knifepoint and made away with his wristwatch and wallet, said police.
