Global tenders invited for drainage work

Speaking to press persons after meeting with KMRP officers here on Sunday, City Municipal Council president M Prakash said that global tender has been floated to take up work on underground drainage work.

The work would start soon after the completion of tender process. It is expected to begin by January 2010, he hoped. The outlay for the project is Rs 22.6 crore. October 16 is the last date to submit tenders. The work would be completed in the next 18 months, he elaborated.

The work on construction of underground drainage will be taken up at 13 places on National Highway (MG Road) that passes through the City, near Sir M Visveswaraya stadium on National Highway 7, Vokkaliga Kalyana Mantap, the bridge at Vapasandra bypass, Ambedkar Colony near Railway track in Chamarajpet (East) and Kousar town. City Municipal Council president Ramadevi, members Jayamma, municipal commissioner Umakanth, Assistant Executive Engineer Chandrashekhraiah and KMRP tehnical advisor Chandrashekhar were present on the occasion.
