MLA's resignation demanded

Last Updated 06 April 2012, 17:41 IST

‘MLA of Srirangapatna A B Ramesh is associated with illegal site scam and has forgotten his duties of serving people.

He has to resign immediately,’ urged leader of Raitha Sangha K S Nanjundaswamy.

Addressing press meet here on Friday, he said, “If JD(S) party workers believe in equality, they have to instruct MLA to resign. He does not allow officials to work honestly and it is better that he resigns.”

Raitha sangha would continue public fight against him. He is involved in housing scam and though has land is in his wife’s name, he has provided false information, he alleged.
Nanjundaswamy released documents of MLA possessing land in the name of his wife.

“He has lied in the election certificate that there is no property in his wife’s name. Land exists in name of his wife in 2006-07 at B Agrahara of Belagola hobli,” he said.

It is even known that he posses lands in Kirangur, T M Hosur and other places. Raitha sangha will fight in public about the issue and urge for his resignation, he added.

Mining

Speaking about the mining at Kannambadi, he said, though police officials and deputy commissioner are aware of illegal mining going on in Kannambadi, it is not good on their part to keep their lips closed.

“Raitha Sangha had already complained to take measures regarding illegal mining on June 15, 2007 itself. But there has been no action taken till now. Administration in taluk is going on as per instructions of MLAs.

“If DC and SP do not act upon the issue, it would mean to the public that they are also involved in the activity,” he said.

Konasale Narasaraju, Suresh, Nanjundappa and  others were present.
