Intel brings Nehalem to mainstream computers

The latest family of chips — Intel Core I5, Intel Core I7 and Xeon 3400 for entry level servers, which the chip-giant was released globally on Tuesday — has also brought some of its most advanced technologies such as Turbo Boost, previously available only in the server segment.

Besides Turbo Boosting -the AI-enabled technology which would increase and reduce performance depending on the intensity of the application— the Core I7 processors also come with hyper-threading which allows the chips to support upto eight threads, Intel AsiaPac Marketing & Consumer Sales Director Tim Bailey said.
