The State government has set up the officers’ committee under the chairmanship of the additional chief secretary to recommend measures on doctors’ demands.
Doctors appointed on contract basis have announced that they would submit resignation in unison if their demands were not fulfiled before September 28.
Meeting postponed
Principal Secretary of Health Department I R Perumal said the committee postponed the meeting as it felt that there was a need to discuss the demands in detail.
“Anyhow there is still 20-day’s time. Doctors have threatened to resign on September 28. Before that we will resolve the issue”, he said.
