<p>A man was killed and his 17-year-old niece was injured when a speeding bus rammed into the motorcycle they were travelling on at Krishna Nagar in east Delhi, police said on Monday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The deceased has been identified as Ashraf. He and his niece Rukhsar, 17, were on their way to meet a doctor at Bihari Colony when the accident occurred at around 10.30 am on Saturday.<br /><br />Ashraf was driving the motorcycle, while Rukhsar was the pillion rider. <br /><br />“When they reached road number 57 at Krishna Nagar, a speeding bus rammed into their motorcycle. Ashraf fell off the bike and was crushed under the rear wheel of the bus. <br /><br />Rukhsar was critically injured,” a police official said.<br /><br />The bus driver sped with his vehicle immediately after the accident. <br /><br />After receiving information, police rushed to the spot and took Ashraf and Rukhsar to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared Ashraf as brought dead.<br /><br />Based upon Rukhsar’s complaint, a case has been registered against the bus driver. <br /><br />Police are investigating the matter.<br /><br />Biker injured<br /><br />In a separate accident, a 45-year-old man was injured when his two-wheeler was hit by a speeding vehicle near Budha Garden. <br /><br />Harkeerat Singh, a resident of Arjun Nagar, was returning home from work when the accident occured at around 1 am on Monday.<br /><br />“Harkeerat was rushed to nearby Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. He is currently unfit for statement,” a police official said.<br /><br />A case has been registered under section 279 and 337 of the Indian Penal Code <br />at Chanakyapuri police station.<br /><br /></p>
