Congress leader and former NGEF Chairman V Shankar demanded dismissal of V R S Natarajan, Managing Director of BEML, in view of the FIR filed against him by the CBI, for misappropriation.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Shankar also demanded CBI probe into the irregularities by Natarajan, after he was appointed as the managing director of BEML.

“Natarajan should  submit his resignation to ensure the probe is conducted without any pressures. If not the government should take action,” he said.

“Natarajan has done injustice to the people of Kolar with nepotism. He chose to give jobs to people from his native place Coimbatore. He had promised to start a Railway fabrication unit at 1009 acre land belonging to BGML and to give jobs to mine workers. But instead, he has transported various expensive items,” he alleged.

Shankar also warned of a dharna on Wednesday, demanding complete probe against irregularities by Natarajan.

KRV demand arrest

Members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike stage a protest at Robertsonpet in KGF on Tuesday demanding arrest of V R S Natarajan, Managing Director of BEML.

The protestors alleged though CBI has booked a case against Natarajan, there is delay in arresting him. The CBI should conduct probe strictly, without heeding to any pressures, said KRV district level president Rajagopalagowda.

Protestors shouted slogans against the BEML officer near Mahatma Gandhi Circle and also blocked road for some time.
