CPM stages protest

The protestors took out a procession from Mahaveera road to Nadakacheri office. They shouted slogans against state and central governments.

Party taluk Joint Secretary Gopala Shetty said the prices of rice, dal and sugar are increasing day-by-day. Poor are struggling to purchase the essential commodities. However, government has not taken any measures to control the price rise. “Some of the fertilisers are not available in co-operative societies. However, they are sold in black market,” he added.

Kalasa unit Secretary M K Lakshmanachar said Kalasa community health centre should be handed over soon after the completion of its work.
