Bhullar shot a two-under 69 and moved to four-under 209 and was six shots behind the leader Thaworn Wiratchant, who was 10-under but with four holes still to play in the third round.

Bhullar was tied sixth, but only one player ahead of him had finished the third round. When darkness forced an early suspension of play, 15 players were yet to finish their third round.

Jeev slips

Jeev Milkha Singh went two-over 74 in his second round to slip to tied 59th position, while compatriot SSP Chowrasia languished at the bottom after carding nine-over 81 in the Mercedes-Benz Golf Championship in Cologne, Germany on Saturday.

Australian Adam Scott and Englishman Chris Wood share the lead at nine-under 135.
