Apart from accommodating Jet Airways strike affected passengers and flying out the Indian cricket team to Colombo on a specially operated flight, AI has also ensured travel of general passengers on its flights by keeping its fares at normal levels, the release said.
The spokesperson added that while retention of fares at normal levels when other airlines had hiked their fares by huge margins invited criticism and comments about Air India being non-commercial in its approach, the airline had a far greater responsibility, particularly in difficult situations.
