'Naxal package, only eyewash'

 A surrendered naxal has called the naxal packages as a means for the politicians to fill their own pockets.

Surrendered Maoist Yedagunda Jaya said that package has nothing for the welfare of the people living in naxal infested areas.Jaya was speaking at a programme organised by Pejawar Mutt at Yadagunda recently to distribute various facilities to local residents.

“The Government, without providing any facilities in backward villages, ruthlessly resorted to evicting people in the name of Kudremukh National Park. With this, the local youth started drifting towards a faction of people propagating violent means to attain justice.

With many youth even I joined this faction but on realising that this faction was only using the youth as a shield, I opted to surrender,” said Jaya adding that now that Udupi Pejawar Mutt has taken a lead to provide basic facilities in the region, people should come forth and make use of it.
