In a bizarre incident, a motorcyclist attacked some police officials when they tried to stop an altercation between him and an elderly man in south Delhi.

The incident was reported in Vasant Vihar at 9 am on Thursday. A traffic constable in the area saw a young biker in an altercation with an motorist over a petty overtaking issue.
The constable tried to resolve the issue, asking the biker not to make derogatory remarks to the elderly person. But the motorcyclist did not stop and started abusing the traffic constable as well.

“The traffic constable then called a nearby police control room van. The policemen from the van also tried to resolve the issue but the biker allegedly started abusing them and manhandled one of the head constables, Murarilal. Murarilal then called for help and other constables joined him to nab the accused. During the scuffle, the accused tore the uniform of two constables and even bit one constable,” said a senior police officer.

The officers then overpowered the man and arrested him for attacking policemen.

The biker was later identified as Saurav Roy Chaudhary of Air India Colony in Vasant Vihar. The head constable Murari Lal filed an FIR against him.
