Dhanush takes sole lead

Dha-nush Bharadwaj beat Jagadish P to be in the sole lead with five points after as many rounds in the boys’ section of the Karnataka State under-9 chess championship at the State Youth Centre here on Tuesday.

Lakshvant B defeated Nitin SN to be placed second with 4.5 points.

In the girls’ section, Khushi M Hombal and Prachi Bharti are in joint lead at 3.5 points each after playing out a draw in the fourth round.

Ananya Arumbakkam, Ananya Patel, Ishani Rai and Poorvi Adappa all registered victories to be in tied second spot with three points each.

Ananya Arumbakkam got the better of Shriya M Jaju while Ananya Patel beat Prema P in their fourth round games
