Last Updated 14 September 2009, 17:19 IST

Speaking at the KDP meeting here on Friday, he said stern action will be initiated against those officials who fail to attend the KDP meeting and provide answers on the developmental works. Satisfied with the progress report on Bhagya jyothi and Kuteera jyothi schemes from the Mescom officials, he said ZP members will provide all co-operation for the implementation of the project.

Zilla Panchayat CEO Shivashankar expressed his anguish for not having  been able to reach the target under Indira Awas scheme. Loopholes in identifying the beneficiaries under programme led to the delay in reaching the target. Unless the loopholes are rectified, the implementation of the project is not possible. District-in-Charge Minister wanted the officials to give emphasis on the project and directed that the work on the scheme should commence this month, he added.

On priority basis, electricity connection must be provided to beneficiaries under Bhagya Jyiothi and Kuteera Jyothi scheme after holding talks with Mescom. TP EOs should give special emphasis on the implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.  Women and Child Welfare department Deputy Director spoke on decline in number of children between 3 to 6 years at the anganwadi centres and said 336 private anganwadi centres are functioning in the district. She urged DDPI to give details on it.
DDPI Chame Gowda said all the private anganwadi centres are registered. The meet also discussed the delay in supply of nutritious food as per the demand.

Under Sampoorna Swacchatha andolan (total cleanliness drive), 23 Gram Panchayats have been passed by the State team. The district is forerunner in the implementation of the drive. A Central team will visit the district on September 15 to assess the implementation. Project Officer Takath Rao, ZP Vice President Jagannath Salian and others were present.
