<p>NHPC, country’s largest hydro power generating company, on Friday, reported 28 per cent jump in net profit for financial year ended March 31, 2012, at Rs 2,772 crore.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The company had posted a net profit of Rs 2,167 crore during the previous financial year (2010-11), Chairman & Managing Director A B L Srivastava told reporters here.<br /><br />The company registered a turnover of Rs 5,510 crore as against Rs 4,046 crore in the previous fiscal.<br /><br />He said the company plans to commission 1,200 MW of capacity during the current financial year (2012-13), which is a spill-over from the last fiscal’s (2011-12) target.<br /></p>
