A 38-year-old employee of a private firm was killed on the spot after a speeding BMTC bus ran over him on Residency Road in Ashoknagar on Friday.
Paul Joseph Shanthakumar of Jyothinagar in New Thippasandra was on his way to office around 10:45 am when a bus rammed into his two-wheeler from behind near Baldwin School. He fell off his bike and came under the wheels of the bus, police said.
Shanthakumar was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Traffic was disrupted for an hour on the stretch.
The bus driver who had fled the scene was arrested later.
Paul, a native of Coimbatore, was living in Bangalore for the past 10 years.
