In a gruesome incident, 16 persons, including three children, were killed and several others were injured when a mango-laden lorry in which they were travelling turned turtle near Mahendramangalam in Tamil Nadu on Sunday.
Sources said that more than 24 agricultural labourers were travelling on the lorry which was proceeding from Palacode towards Krishnagiri when the mishap occurred about 52 km from here around 8 PM.
Police explained that there were 43 people on the vehicle totally and some of them sustained minor injuries. The injured have been hospitalised.
