HDK demands CM's resignation

Last Updated 15 September 2009, 18:36 IST

Kumaraswamy said that the CM suo moto announced a probe by a retired High Court judge on the alleged irregularities in the purchase of coal between 2002 and 2009. “Several such probes had been conducted in the past, but to no avail. So, a CBI probe should be ordered into the issue,” he said.

The prime minister, union home minister and the governor have expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation. “So, in order to please them, the CM  has obtained ‘fast mover’ award with respect for maintaining law and order from a company by giving gifts,” Kumaraswamy charged.

The CM skipped the legislature session and went to Delhi by a special flight, spending Rs 15 lakh to receive this award, he alleged.

HDK takes back his words

Kumaraswamy usually does not mince words while criticising the BJP-government. But on Tuesday, he lost control over himself, so much so that the former CM, realising that some words he uttered were unparliamentary, decided to take them back at the end of the conference. “I became a bit emotional due to injustice meted out to people,” he said.
