The Karnataka High Court today granted bail to three BBMP officials who were taken into custody for their alleged involvement in the misappropriation of funds in three divisions of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike.

Allowing their bail petitions, Justice Subhash B Adi granted conditional bail to the officials attached to Malleshwaram, Rajajeshwarinagar and Gandhinagar of the BBMP divisions -- L K Shivananda, B P Paramesh, N C Nagaraj -- who had allegedly misappropriated funds worth around Rs 500 crore.

The court directed them to furnish a personal bond of Rs one lakh and a surety of the same amount.

The petitioners were also directed to be present in court whenever required, cooperate with the investigation, not tamper with the evidence and not leave the country without the permission of the court.

The trio, who had been remanded to judicial custody, were refused bail by a lower court last month after which they moved the High Court.
