Readers want library premises utilised

The residents have expressed their displeasure over the under-utilisation of the Central Library premises of the district near the Old Bus Stand.

They said that the large premises could be turned into a park or a rest room. Hundreds of visitors come to the library everyday, located opposite the travellers’ bungalow, to read books and to spend their leisure time.

The readers want the premises to be put to good use and benefit visitors.

Anil, a student said: “At present, the premises are filled with weeds and shrubs. Vehicles are parked in a haphazard manner in the premises, which reduces the utility of the premises. If there are appropriate seating arrangements in the premises, then people can spend their leisure time here.”

He also expressed the need to construct small rooms along with a park, which can increase the facilities in the park.

The readers said that the beautification of the park can attract a lot of readers. Garbage should not be strewn over the place and there should be systematic parking facility, the readers suggested.
