With the CAG indicting the Congress led Delhi government for financial losses in its recently tabled report in  Delhi Assembly, Delhi BJP on Saturday demanded chief minister Sheila Dikshit’s resignation.

“The Delhi government chose the last day of Delhi Assembly session to table the report as Dikshit was afraid of a public debate over the issues raised by CAG,” said Vijay Jolly, Delhi BJP spokesperson while addressing a press conference.

Jolly demanded that the Delhi government should own up its failure for the total revenue loss to the tune of Rs 2,019 crore, non-utilisation of Rs 372.66 crore meant for development work in unauthorised colonies – where only 26 per cent of the total fund was used.

He said Rs 100 crore also remained unutilised on pensions which directly affected the deserving beneficiaries.

“The Comptroller and Auditor General’s report also indicted the government for under utilised subsidy for domestic LPG and smaller release of grants for MCD reforms. It also revealed that government failed to identify about 56,000 families entitled for food subsidies under Antyodaya Anna Yojana,” said Jolly.

He also said the government keeps on announcing new schemes but not many are benefiting from them.
