Woman found dead

Roopa, 24, was found brutally murdered at her residence in Jyotinagar, HAL police station limits on Friday. She was married to Somashekhar, 32, an employee of HAL for the past four years. The couple have a two-year-old daughter.

According to the police, the couple quarrelled frequently  and on Friday,  after another fight, Somashekhar allegedly struck Roopa’s head with a rock. The incident came to light on Friday morning, when a few neighbours alerted the police. Somashekhar is absconding.

The HAL police have registered a case of murder and have launched a manhunt for Somashekhar.

A 28-year-old woman, Latha K, was found dead at her residence at 2nd main, Palace Guttahalli, in Vyalikaval police station limits, on Thursday. She was married to Mahadev, a ‘D’ group employee at the Reserve Bank of India. The couple have twin boys.

The incident came to light when she failed to respond to the knocks by her sons, who returned from tuitions. They broke open the door only to see her hanging, said the police. According to her husband’s statement to the police, she was depressed after she recently lost  her father and uncle.

This could have forced her to take the extreme step. The Vyalikaval police registered a case.
