Oz man raped daughter for 30 yrs, fathered 4 kids: report

The Victorian man now in his sixties, began raping his daughter in the 1970's when she was 11. The notorious crime continued for three decades, the Herald Sun reported. He is charged with multiple counts of rape and incest.

The unnamed man was initially charged with 83 offences, most of which have been withdrawn by police.

The Victorian now faces 13 charges - five of incest, five of rape, two of indecently assaulting a girl under the age of 16 and one of assault, 'The Age' reported.

The daily said it understands that during an early court appearance the man indicated he would plead guilty to all 13 charges.

He is due to appear in a Melbourne court in November. Victorian Premier John Brumby said he was "shocked" by the case.

"Obviously any crime of this type is one that is shocking and that is personally repulsive to me and to other Victorians," he said.

"It’s a terrible case. It brings to all of us I think the worst possible thoughts about families and what might occur there and what may have occurred."

The incident has rocked the state even as the Opposition plans to call for the resignation of Community Services Minister Lisa Neville in Question Time this afternoon. The source said  Brumby should also consider his future.

The Fritzl case emerged in April, 2008 when a 42-year-old woman, Elizabeth Fritzl stated to police in Austria that she had been held captive for 24 years in a concealed part of the basement of the family home by her father, Josef Fritzl and that he has physically assaulted, sexually abused and raped her numerous times during her imprisonment.
