Doctors, hospitals to protest on June 25

In a mark of protest against the Central government’s attempt to gain control over the Medical Council of India, Indian Medical Association (IMA) has urged all its members to shut their clinics, hospitals and laboratories, in order to show solidarity with other IMA members, on June 25.

The protest is also aimed at condemning the introduction of interference by National Council for Human Resources in health care and also against the implementation of Clinical Establishment (Registration and Regulation) Act by the Union government.

However, emergency services will not be affected, said a press release from IMA.
