Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, accused in the Rachenahalli denotification case and the Prerana Trust kickback case was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday.

Though the CBI had grilled the other accused, Yeddyurappa’s sons B Y Raghavendra, B Y Vijendra and son-in-law Sohan Kumar, it hadn’t questioned the former chief minister.

Yeddyurappa presented himself before the CBI officials at 4:30 pm, the scheduled time, at the Gangenhalli CBI office. Malur MLA Krishnaiah Setty was also called in for questioning. A special team of CBI officials led by Biswajit Das questioned the duo for about four hours.

Yeddyurappa and Setty were questioned separately and later brought together and questioned again to find out the discrepancies in their statements, if any. Yeddyurappa, Raghavendra, Vijendra and Sohan Kumar have already obtained anticipatory bail in the case.
