Addressing media persons after taking part in a motivation camp held at FMC College here on Saturday, he said the youth joining army have all scope for attaining a great future.

Army recruitment rallies for nine districts will be held at Udupi from November 12 to 18. The youth from Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, Udupi, Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Chitradurga, Davangere and Shimoga can take part in the rally, he said.

He regretted that the number of youth from Kodagu joining army is very less. “There is no role of money or recommendations in the Army recruitment process. Youth need not meet the middlemen. The process will be held on merit-basis in a transparent manner,” he said.
It is necessary to prepare the youth for recruitment rallies through proper training.

The district administration and the Employment Exchange Department should come forward to organise training programmes in this regard,” the Brigadier said. Only 45 men have been selected during the recruitment rally held from January 9 to 12 this year.  It is disappointing that such a less number of people are being selected from the land of soldiers, he said.
Compared to Belgaum and other regions, the number of youth joining Army is lesser in Mangalore region too, he added.
