<p>Urging to cancel the auction process of the ‘santhe maidan’ of Holenarasipur, and demanding alternate space for the market, farmers of the taluk staged a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s office in Hassan on Monday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The protesters alleged that the Holenarasipur town municipal council had taken up auctioning of the land without providing any basic necessities. <br /><br />The farmers had already urged not to auction until basic amenities were provided to those who had makeshift stalls. Despite this, the auction has been conducted.<br /><br />Alternate space<br /><br />They urged the deputy commissioner to provide suitable alternative land for shandy and facilities required for the cattle and cancel the auction held on July 7.<br /><br />Holenarasipur taluk unit Raitha Sangha president Ningegowda, Suresh Babu, Nanjundegowda, Javaraju, Puttaraju and several ryots participated in the protest.<br /></p>
