The body of Pawan Kumar, the software engineer who was found dead at a hotel room in Belleville, USA, on June 19, has finally arrived in India after month-long consultations and legal procedures.

The medical examiner of New Jersey released the body to local funeral home there, after Kumar’s family consented for the retrieval of the body.

The Ministry of External Affairs arranged for the transport of the body on an Indian Airlines flight. The body reached New Delhi on Tuesday evening and was sent to Bangalore on a connecting flight. It is expected to arrive in the City late on Tuesday night.

Cremation

Gopal Krishna, Kumar’s uncle, confirmed the news and said the family had abandoned any plans of another post mortem  as he had died a month ago and did not want to  hurt the feelings of the parents.

The cremation is expected to be conducted at the Hebbal electrical crematorium on Wednesday.
