The Karnataka Unaided School Management Association (KUSMA), which had declared that it would shut down schools from July 16 to 22 protesting against the RTE rules, is reconsidering the protest plan.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, G S Sharma, president of KUSMA, said that a decision on the protest would be taken on Thursday.

All the members of the Association would discuss whether to cancel the protest or defer the date, the president added.

Shashi Kumar, member of the Karnataka Private School Management Federation, which has joined hands with KUSMA, said that the organisation was considering deferring the protest in view of the political developments in the State.

Shashi Kumar added that the members of the Federation are waiting for things to settle and then they would also consider holding discussions with the government as assured by the education minister earlier.
