Guruvayanakere Nagarika Seva Trust (NST), DK Parisarasaktara Okkuta and Karavali Mahila Jagruthi Vedike have organised the programme. Informing this at a press meet here on Thursday, NST President K Somanath Nayak said rainwater harvesting expert Shreepadre will deliver a special talk while District-in-Charge Minister J Krishna Palemar will preside.

As estimated eight years back, the Netravathi river diversion project required Rs 13,000 crore for its implementation, but now it may go up to Rs 60,000 crore. On the other hand, the environmental damage it may cause if implemented is unimaginable, he added.

DK Parisarasaktara Okkuta President Umesh Nirmal, Krishikara Vedike President K Vasanthi,  Karavali Mahila Jagruthi Vedike President P Hemavathi and NST Director Rajiv Salian were present.
