Company asked to pay up for incomplete pest management

She had paid up Rs 2,700 to Godrej HiCare Ltd. for three pest management treatments. The first treatment was done but the person supposed to do the second treatment never turned up, while the cockroaches did in full force, damaging her kitchen.

Several reminders to the firm to finish the work properly were ignored. Upset and annoyed, she complained to this forum and President S S Nagarale has ordered the firm to return Rs 2,700 to her and to pay her Rs 10,000 as compensation.

Delay in delivery of goods

Sanctity in Frazer Town had paid up Rs 40,000 to Design Comforts to make display units for it and were promised delivery on June 1, 2008. Fifteen months later the buyer was still waiting for the display units and finally recovered Rs 20,000 from Design Comforts.

But the cheque given to them for the remaining amount of Rs 20,000 was stopped by the opposite party when they tried to cash it.

Two more cheques given to them bounced. The forum ordered Design Comforts to repay Rs 20,000 to complainant with interest at 12 per cent.

Golden Palms spa

Albert Kurien paid up Rs 2,84,136 to Golden Palms Hotel and Spa to become a member but was displeased with their services. This forum has ordered the Spa to refund Rs 1,70,482 to him.

Refund ordered

The Second Forum has ordered Manjunatha Land Developers and Construction pvt. Ltd. to refund Rs 2 lakh to G Nagaraj who is waiting to build his flat. Deepak Gosain who is still waiting for his flat in Krishna Gardens promised to him by Sri Priya Developers has been helped by Bangalore Urban consumer forum which has ordered them to return Rs 2,25,000 to him along with Rs 50,000 as compensation.

Incomplete flat work

Agradoot Ghatak too had an unfortunate experience with Sai Engineers Associates and Active Properties and Estates whose advertisements lured him to pay up Rs 35,35,000 to them for an apartment in Garudadri Srpings which is still lacking paintwork, plastering, woodwork, flooring etc. Even a police complaint did not help him and the builder got hostile. This forum has ordered them to finish the work of his flat within two months of receiving the order.

Dress damaged

Shirley Pathrose had given her daughter’s costly dress to Bangalore Fabricare for dry cleaning but they damaged it instead and the court has ordered them to pay her Rs 1,500 as compensation.
