<p>Renowned Urdu laureate and ex-chairman of Bihar Universities (Constituent Colleges) Commission Wahad Ashrafi today died at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) in Sheikhpura in Patna after protracted illness.<br /><br /></p>.<p>He was 76.<br /><br />Ashrifi was survived by his widow and four sons.<br /><br />He was dean of department of Urdu in Ranchi University and author of more than three dozen books.<br /><br />He was also recipient of several national and international awards.<br /><br />Meanwhile, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, Secretary General Ramkripal Yadav, JD(U) leader Aslam Azad condoled his death.</p>
