More rains likely in City

However, the upper air cyclonic system that was located in the coastal Tamil Nadu will become weak in the next two or three days. The Meterological Department has stated that the rains may reduce in the coming weeks with the passage of the cyclonic circulation in the South-Eastern and near by Western Bay of Bengal.

“We might not see a clear sky through the day. Maybe, in the morning it might be clear but the chances of clear skies are less,” informed Bangalore Meterological Department Director Muthuchami. He said that while northern parts of Karnataka there is no change in weather patterns, coastal and southern parts will see light showers through next week.

Lake full to brim

Traffic was affected for some time. However, no loss to human life was reported. Branches of many trees too gave way due to the intermittent showers in many parts of Bangalore.

There was flooding in Mathikere, Lal Bagh West Gate and Kurubarahalli near Yeshwantapur, said sources. Water from a storm-water drain overflowed on to the road at Mathikere.
BBMP cleared the silt from the drain after commuters complained to them.
