Tight police security for Ramzan

As many as 35 platoons of Karnataka State Reserve Police, 20 City Armed platoons and civil police have been pressed for the duty. The police have also taken the help of home guards who will be donning the role of police as well, said the police sources.

“The police have left no stone unturned to ensure peaceful celebration of the festival. We have taken adequate security measures and the whole department will be seen on duty. We have also deployed additional security in sensitive areas like Shivajinagar, Frazer Town, D J Halli, K G Halli, Tilaknagar, City Market and other areas. The police will sternly deal with those who may misuse the opportunity to spread violence.There is no need for panic,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (law and order) M R Pujar. According to sources, the police have intensified vigil in the backdrop of attacks on churches and violent incident during Ganesha procession recently.
