JOIN USThe Belli Chukki Princess Karnataka 2012, a fashion event dedicated to poise and glamour, was held recently in the City.
It was a new beginning for those who participated in it. The judges for the evening were former Miss India contestant Radhika Rao, artist Lohith S P and Jeffry Crasta.
All the participants at the event were college students. It’s been three years since this programme began, and it has received quite a positive response.
A total of 16 young women walked the ramp for the title. The competition was held at Chowdiah Memorial Hall and the participants hailed from across the State.
The spotlight wasn’t just on the contestants, however — non-participants kept the crowd entertained between rounds, while the models were preparing for their upcoming walks, by strutting across the ramp and displaying their catwalks.
The attitude and confidence that these youngsters brought to the stage was applauded and cheered by not just the judges, but the audience as well. The crowd shouted out the names of their favourite contestants to encourage them.
The winner of the Belli Chukki Princess Karnataka 2012 was Manisha Undale. The first runner-up was Priyanka and the second was Silky. The results were announced with loud cheers and whistles from the spectators. The winning contestants are now all set to take a step forward to make their dreams come true.
“I’m very happy and excited to have won this title. It’s a great opportunity for a youngster like me. I’m taking one step at a time to become a supermodel,” says Manisha.
The theme for the first round was ethnic wear. The girls walked the ramp with grace wearing ‘ghaghras’. The concept of casual wear for round two was quite a hit. Girls wore high heels, shorts, sleeveless and tube tops with jackets and ties. They adorned beautiful evening dresses in round three. The contestants accessorised their looks with belts, watches and brightly-coloured jewellery.
