Education dept to allocate excess teachers

On the one hand, several primary schools are facing acute shortage of teachers, on the other hand, there are excess teachers serving in few schools. 

To rectify the problem, DDPI B H Basavaraju has taken measures to deploy the additional teachers to those schools which are facing acute shortage of teachers. The Department of Public Instructions has already prepared a list of additional teachers serving in primary schools. 

Speaking to Deccan Herald, he said “the teachers need not worry over the process. Measures will be taken to solve the problem of shortage of teachers. The allocation process will help the students.” 

As per the available data, there are 78 additional teachers serving in various primary schools in the district. Somwarpet taluk has highest of 40 teachers. Madikeri taluk has 29 additional teachers and Virajpet has nine additional teachers.

The number of additional teachers in various primary schools are as follows: Madikeri taluk—Jodupala (1), Thalathamane (1), K Badaga (1), Makkandoor (2), Thombathumane (1), Hodavada (3), Cheriyaparambu (1), Chappendadi (1), Bhagamandala (1), Ayyangeri (1), Kankakare (1), Guyya (3), Chettalli (2), Siddapura (1), U Chembu (1), Bettageri (3), Kannada Peraje (1)m Kote Peraje (1), Balamuri (1), Kedanga (1). 

Virajpet taluk—Bilugunda (1), Ontiangadi (1), Devanageri (1), Kanoor (1), Banangala (1), Aarji (1), Kutta (1), Chennangoli (1), Ponnampet (1). 

Somwarpet—Aloor Siddapura (1), Beloor road (2), Gowdalli (1), Hebbale (2), Kodagarahalli (1), Kodlipete (2), Kushalnagar (2), Madapura (1), Nerugalale (1), Shanivarasanthe (1), Ankanahalli (1), Athoor Nallur (1), Byadagotti (1), Balagunda (1), Beloor (1), Bembaloor (1), Chowdlu (1), Doddamalthe (1), Dundalli (1), Garagandoor (1), Gejjehanakodu (1), Gopalapura (1), Handli (1), Hosathota (1), Hulagunda (1), Kajoor (1), Kanive (1), Koodumangalure (1), Madalapura, Madapatna (1), Mullusoge (1), 7th Hosakote (1), Thorenoor (1), Vijayanagara (1), and Valnoor Thyagathoor (1). “The deployment of additional teachers will be carried out in a transparent manner. The list of additional teachers with their name, age and date of birth and the school in which they were serving has been published in www.kodagu.nic.in/zpdepts/education.htmAny loopholes in the list should be brought to the notice of the BEO on or before July 23. Similarly, additional teachers in high schools have also been prepared and published in the website. 

Concession

The additional teachers who will be deployed to those schools which have shortage of teachers, can avail concession from being reshuffling, if they are about to retire within two years, or working under Sarva Shikshana Abhiyan, or having 40 per cent of the disability or suffering from any disease, the DDPI said.
