Five-year-old raped, another minor sodomised

A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour and a 10-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised by a sweeper in the city in separate incidents, police said on Monday.

The minor was sexually assaulted at west Delhi’s Narela on Sunday night by her 20-year-old neighbour, who was arrested later, police said on Monday. 

The victim was alone at her house when accused Deepak entered the house and fled after committing the crime.

The victim’s family members approached police soon after the incident and the accused was arrested after her medical report confirmed rape.

Class 5 student sodomised

In the second incident, a class 5 student, was sodomised near his house in Uttam Nagar of west Delhi.

Accused Vinod of Raghubir Nagar was standing near a shop when the victim went there to buy some medicines. 

He took the boy in an isolated area and sexually assaulted him. “Vinod also gave the victim Rs 5 and asked him to keep his mouth shut,” said a police officer.

The boy went back to his house and told his parents about the incident. 

His parents approached police. The accused was arrested after the boy’s medical examination.

Vinod is employed as a sweeper in the area.
