JOIN USThe first-year students of Maharani Ammani Lakshmi College held a talent hunt for the students, where the students performed in front of their teachers as well as seniors. It was a mixed bag of talent and brains, as students came up enthusiastically to showcase their best.
The college looked decked up for the event and excitement was in the air even before the event started.
“It was one of the first big events that took place in the college this year and we had a nice time. We interacted with our batchmates and our seniors as well. These kind of things help us in opening up to the seniors and college administration,” said Shweta, a first-year student.
The programme had many cultural events like a bharatanatyam and mohiniyattam dance recitals as well as group and solo dances on many popular film numbers. The students had practised for almost a month to put up the performance. The first-year degree and PUC students of all the streams coordinated and decorated the venue where the talent hunt was held.
“The class in-charges from all the streams met up and planned how to decorate the venue. The entire itinerary was decided upon by the students. All the students who were interested met up and decorated the place. It was a lot of fun and all of us pooled in and gave our creative best,” said Spoorthy, a first-year arts student.
The programme was a big hit among the students, who were enjoying catching up with friends and cheering. “It’s so much fun to see friends perform, especially if there is a big group. It is great to cheer and make them conscious on stage.
I really hope we have many such programmes. It’s a good break from studies and daily routine,” said Sneha, another student. The prelims of the talent hunt was held at an earlier date , where the freshers made rangolis and snacks for the teachers and students. They were happy to get a break from studies and classes and exhibited their talent on a full scale.
