Jawan held for raping Colonel's eight-year-old daughter

A jawan working in the house of a Colonel, attached to Defence Service Staff College at nearby Wellington, was today arrested on charges of raping the eight-year-old daughter of the officer, police said today.

 The Colonel and his wife, a Major in the Regiment Centre, had gone for duty yesterday, when the jawan, Brahminder Singh, saw the girl returning from school and allegedly raped her, police said.

After the girl informed her mother about the incident, she was taken to a private hospital where it was confirmed that the child was raped following which a complaint was lodged, they said.
