Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar on Friday urged Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar to extend the last date for submitting applications under the National Agricultural Insurance Scheme and the Modified National Agricultural Insurance Scheme for farmers in view of severe drought in the State.
The last date for participating in the National Agricultural Insurance Scheme is July 31 and September 31 for non-loanee farmers and Loanee farmers respectively.
