Cibulkova wears Carlsbad Open

Last Updated 23 July 2012, 16:11 IST

Dominika Cibulkova claimed her second career title when she romped to a routine 6-1, 7-5 victory over top seed Marion Bartoli to win the Carlsbad Open on Sunday.

In an impressive display from behind the baseline, the second seeded Slovakian was quicker around the court than her French opponent, rallying from a 4-1 deficit in the second set to record a morale-boosting victory ahead of the Olympics.

Cibulkova came out with all guns blazing and after dropping the opening game of the match, she swarmed all over the Frenchwoman, dictating proceedings with her big forehand.
Roddick wins

Former world number one Andy Roddick came back from a set down to win the Atlanta Open tennis event against 63rd-ranked Gilles Muller 1-6, 7-6(2), 6-2.

The 29-year-old American defeated Muller for the fourth time in five meetings and celebrates his second triumph this season, following victory at the AEGON International in Eastbourne over Andreas Seppi. He has won 11 of his last 12 matches.
