Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar on Thursday was back at work in his office at Krishi Bhawan, a day after the week-long stand off between Congress and NCP came to an end.
After NCP’s demand to form coordination committee for better consultation among UPA allies at the Centre and revamp the coordination mechanism in Maharshtra was met on Wednesday, Pawar plunged into a series of meetings with senior officials to tackle the problem of drought – like situation in various parts of the country.
The agriculture minister also spoke to Union Food Minister K V Thomas on the status of sowing of Kharif crop in the wake of truant monsoon.
Pawar also informed that an Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) on drought will meet on Tuesday to review the monsoon situation.
“I have planned EGoM on drought on coming Tuesday,” Pawar, who was recently made head of the EGoM on drought, told media.
