Farmer electrocuted in Chintamani taluk

The incident took place in Doddakattigenahalli village in the Kenchlarahalli police station limits of Chintamani taluk.

The deceased, Chowdareddy (28), is survived by three daughters. The farmers alleged that they had complained to the officials of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (Bescom)several times regarding the fluctuation in the flow of electricity, but the authorities concerned had not bothered to look into the matter. The Bescom and the Government should extend their support to the family of the deceased, the farmers urged.

The Bescom officials have visited the spot. Assistant Executive Engineer of Bescom,  Chalapathi has informed that an appeal would be sent to the higher officials in this regard. A postmortem has been conducted and the body has been handed over the family members. A case has been registered in this regard at the Kenchlarahalli police station.

10 injured in accident

Ten persons were injured in an accident, when a car in which they were travelling, skidded and toppled over. According to the police, the car was speeding towards Murugamale from Devahalli in Chintamani taluk, when the driver lost control near Narayanahalli Cross. It skidded and toppled over, near a steep curve, leaving Ramanji, Mehboob, Mubarak, Javeen Taj and Alla Baksh seriously injured. While the other five have suffered minor injuries.
A case has been registered in this regard at the rural police station.
