JOIN USDistrict-in-Charge Minister C T Ravi said that he will condemn the attack on homestay, at Padil on Saturday night. District administration and the police have been directed to initiate stringent action against the culprits without favouring anyone.
Speaking to presspersons after holding meeting with the senior officials on Sunday evening, he said: “I have been in touch with the Home Minister and Chief Minister. As many as eight individuals who were part of the attack have been arrested. The remaining three persons who were part of the team will be nabbed soon.
The government will not allow any one to take law into their hand. Whatever may be the situation, one should have belief in the system. “All of us have a resposnibility to adhere to the rules and regulations. One should not go beyond a limit. We will oppose any act of Talibans in the State. The police department has been directed to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the State,” he told mediapersons.
“We have a responsibility to ensure that peace is not marred in the district,” he said and added that the district administration has been directed to take all precautionary measures.
Home Minister has promised to provide helping hand in case of necessity, he added. Ravi said that he has directed the authorities concerned to collect information on homestays, permission for running the homestay and the persons who maintain it.
“We will probe into the incident. There is no question of defending the accused. However, no innocent will be harmed. No accused will be allowed to go scotfree from the clutches of law. After a thorough investigation, we will come to know the failure. We can not tell now itself. As per the available information, it was a spontaneous incident,” he said.
