The initiative to cycle to work on Mondays received a shot in the arm as deputy commissioner P S Vastrad, Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) commissioner C J Betsumath and more than 20-other MUDA officials pedalled 12 km to attend an international conference being  organised at the Infosys campus.

Having distributed stickers last week to boost cycling, MUDA commissioner Betsurmath gave away caps this week to officials, who too cycled to Infosys from the office of the deputy commissioner.

As the officials started early from the DC’s office to participate in the conference, they arrived well in advance at the venue.

The enthusiastic group of officials pedalled through Hunsur road and Ring road to reach the Infosys campus.

The call given by the deputy commissioner also received support from more than 200 teachers, who cycled their way to work.

The teachers reached the office of the deputy commissioner and  then cycled to zilla panchayat.

After marking their attendance, the group of teachers pedalled to their respective schools.
