How about running your car on hydrogen?

C N R Rao who once had the privilege of travelling in a car running on hydrogen abroad, mooted the interesting topic, in the wake of fears over fuel going extinct in the coming years.

Said Rao, what will happen to cars and planes in the future sans fuel? Hydrogen could replace fuel, but how to produce and store it?, is another question. Rao stated that hydrogen can be produced through artificial photosynthesis or burning water. 

The vapour produced in the process can be heated again to get hydrogen. Instead of using the furnace to heat the vapour, solar energy can  be utilised. Nano technology can also be used, but how to store hydrogen?, is the poser.
