Publishing course at IGNOU

 Admissions are open for Post Graduate Diploma in book Publishing at The Indira Gandhi National Open University’s (IGNOU), School of Humanities (SOH). 

The programme will train aspirants in various areas of publishing, including specialised editing, copy editing and proof reading online, marketing, distribution and sales.

The programme also provides a month-long training/ apprenticeship with a publishing house with a small stipend as well and possibility of employment, an official said.   “Trainees would get a joint certificate from both IGNOU and the FIB on successful completion of the training,” the official added. The programme consists of eight courses — introduction to publishing and its legal aspects, editing and pre-press, production and emerging technologies, marketing, promotion and distribution of books, editing books for children, editing scientific, technical and medical books, editing text books. The one-month training is compulsory.
