<p>A 19-year-old girl had a miraculous escape after her 24-year-old boyfriend threw her into the river Mahanadi in spate in the west Odisha district of Boudh.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The seriously injured girl is now struggling for life at a government-run hospital in Boudh town. Mamina Behera (name changed), a resident of Khan Nagar area of Cuttack city and Ranjit Bagh of Tutusingha village of Boudh district had met the boy during a visit to temple town of Puri a month and half back. Thereafter, both started visiting each other’s houses.<br /><br /> Trouble began when the girl insisted on marriage. She allegedly threatened to file a police complaint if her lover refused to marry her. Last Sunday, Bagh, a taxi driver by profession, asked his girlfriend to come to his village. After the girl arrived at a railway station, he picked her up as per plan and both headed for his village in his taxi. At an isolated place on the way, Bagh reportedly raped the girl. <br /></p>
