Govt notifies quota for TP polls

Madikeri Taluk Panchayat president’s post is reserved for SC woman, while the vice president post is reserved for Backward Class-B.

Subdivisional officer Akram Pasha who is also the election officer has convened a special meeting for electing the president and vice president at 5 pm on May 23.

Candidates can file their nominations from 3 pm to 5 pm. They nomination papers will be scrutinised from 5 pm to 5.10 pm.

Candidates can withdraw their papers till 5.20 pm. Election will be conducted later if it necessitates.

Somwarpet taluk panchayat president’s post is reserved for general category. The vice president post is reserved for SC woman. A special election meeting will be held at taluk panchayat hall at 12 noon on May 23. Nominations can be filed from 10 am to 12 noon. Nominations will be scrutinised till 12.10 pm.

They can be withdrawn till 12.20 pm. Election will be conducted for the said posts if it necessitates.

Virajpet

Virajpet taluk panchayat president’s post is reserved for Backward Class-B. Vice president post is for the general category. The election will be held at the taluk panchayat hall from 12 noon on May 22. Nominations can be filed from 10 am to 12 noon. Nominations will be scrutinised till 12.10 pm. They can be withdrawn till 12.20 pm.
Election will be conducted for the said posts if it necessitates, said Akram Pasha in a release.
